In Oban today

A rather dreich day in Oban today. I had a friend over for the day and took him for a brief walk around our locality, which included a walk up to McCaig's Tower. Why the maintenance men - I'm afraid I can't call them gardeners - should drive their vehicle up the path and over the grass on such a wet day, leaving huge wheel tracks through the shrub bed, is a total mystery to me - see extra. A five-minute rake-out on leaving would solve the problem very simply. What with very little effort could be a remarkable garden in a magical setting is just a weedy, uninspiring council plot. As Oban's top tourist attraction it's letting the town down badly. But what do I know - I'm just a gardener. OK, I shouldn't moan, I know. (Why not?)

My Blip today is a view from the Tower across to the Lighthouse Pier and part of Pulpit Hill beyond. Moored at the pier is the buoy-laying vessel 'Pole Star', with the Manor House Hotel behind her. There's always something going on somewhere in the harbour.
