The Christmas tree has gone
It takes time to take the Christmas lights down in Winchester but the tree was immediately removed.
The image was taken after choir practice and we rehearse in St Lawrence's just by the Buttercross. It's probably of Norman origin and it may be the chapel of William the Conqueror's Palace. The church is all that remains.
The acoustics are wonderful.
On the right of the image is a pasty shop. We use to have two, one either side of the alley that leads past the church and on to the cathedral. It's local name is still Pasty Alley
