A city of contrasts

It has been fascinating to visit Bangkok, it really is a city of contrasts. The old and the new, rich and poor, pristine and scruffy, and beautiful and ugly.

Right now we are supposed to be on a sleeper train heading South through Thailand and then a ferry across to the island of KoTao. Unfortunately there has been a massive storm and much of southern Thailand is seriously flooded. Trains and ferries have been cancelled. So some replacing needed. We will spend another night here in Bangkok and then fly down to Penang in Malaysia.
Sad to miss out on Ko Tao and Ko Samui but we are so much more fortunate than the people whose lives are affected by the floods.
