Baltimore 1962

We went to the Aberystwyth Art Centre to see Hairspray but were not allowed to take pics during the show. However I wanted to record and remember this event and hence the dreary blip. The show was about apartheid in Baltimore. Once a year there was a Negroes day. The rest of the year was devoted to white entertainment. This was the moment in time, which I presume is true, young whites and blacks got together to create a show in which they could perform together. The police and the state governor were involved, and yet it was a musical and a comedy which dealt with a very serious subject. And did we enjoy it? You bet we did as did 100% of the audience who gave the cast a standing ovation.
