A sad sight
This is the sad sight of Brogyntyn Hall near Oswestry. It was originally owned by Lord Harlech's family and was used for the spy communication network in WW2. In more recent times was used by BT.
A couple of years ago it was sold to a developer who would renovate it in exchange for permission to build 50 houses. This is what it looked like when I walked around it then.
The houses haven't been built yet and neither has the renovation been done. It has been allowed to get into the state of disrepair that you see and now they are planning to demolish one of the wings before improving the rest. It's fenced off now so I couldn't walk round to see what the front looks like.
There is a petition to save the building but I think that it's a fait accompli.
