Yellow-eyed Junco
The Yellow-eyed Juncos are small American sparrows found primarily in Mexico; however, their range extends north to some of the mountains of the southern tips of Arizona and New Mexico in the United States. How fortunate I was to have captured one today, with a snack it's mouth, up in Madera Canyon! These are the only juncos in North America with yellow eyes.
Take a look at the range map and read info about these birds at the Audubon site.
