Thing 1 and Thing 2

Today's title was supposed to be Pippi Longstocking, with the photo featuring my red plaits, boots, stockings and Mr Nillson, however once again I've felt compelled to share the cuteness of these two bubbas. So, in aid of our school 'book character day', I've named them the obvious!
My group seem to be enjoying my chosen story for the week, and hearing about Pippi and her adventures. The stories haven't aged like some do. They're making me laugh anyway - along with two of my girls who can't control their giggles. The rest just seem to be soaking it all in, rather than laughing out loud, but they all chatted animately about their favourite parts.
Another highlight today was watching my class read with the Year 1s. Every single child was fully engaged for the whole half-hour; helping the little ones 'sound out' their words and asking relevant questions. They even held hands with their new buddies as they walked them back to class. It showed that deep down they are ALL kind, compassionate children - it's just unfortunate that some of them seem to forget this at times when talking to their peers!
