RED ADMIRAL

I encountered four varieties of Butterfly today - Red Admiral, Yellow Admiral, NZ copper & the Monarch.  I was shooting long today - leaving my macro behind - I'm never sure about this decision as there is no doubt you can get better working distance with long ( 300mmX1.4 extender ) but they are never quite as sharp as the macro lens which requires a lot more stealth.
I was out sailing last night so I'm a bit weary and the long working distance allowed some relief for the tired bones .  I put up a Monarch as the xtra for your edification.
