Day 25 and I'm back at the start point looking due West at the story of the day, no make that the story of the week in Glossop.

Early of Wednesday morning there was a major burst of a water mains pipe on the main A57 road on High Street West in Glossop leaving a large area of the town without water for many hours. United Utilities are working on the repairs and are due to have it completed by the end of the week 31st. August.

This has left diversions in place on the main Manchester Sheffield road through the town and the townsfolk testing a temporarily pedestrianised high street ( I like it ).

Today has been very wet, a thunderstorm got stuck in the valley for over an hour early afternoon. The work in progress is now flooded so they have quite a job on.

I love their signs - not quite Keep Calm and Carry On but understanding the importance of a cuppa hits the spot.
