Such is the metal of us Yorkshire folk we don't let a minor inconvenience such as a wet summers night get in the way of a good time, tables laid, flags unfurled, picnic baskets, flasks, bottles of booze, a people joined as one under a rainbow hue of umbrellas to celebrate the final event of the Ilkley Summer Festival. Oh what fun was had as the band played ever rousing choruses of Land of Hope & Glory in defiance of the Weather Gods who were determined to spoil the Bank Holiday Weekend. Roll on next year and we'll do it all over again whatever is thrown at us.
