MIKE AND THE BBQ --- in the rain.

It rained all day today. Me and Becky and Mike went to the village - Mike needed to post some things he had sold on ebay. Then we went to Ikea. It was packed. Got a few bits and pieces and then went for a meal in the cafe. We all had the Swedish meatballs and mash. Came home to empty the ( hire ) car as it was full up - it has the tiniest boot I have ever seen.

Then we went off out again to an outlet shop near the Metrocentre where I bought a nice winter coat - half price. Then to a discount shop nearby and finally to Pets at Home. Bought a great toy for the cats - battery operated with a feather which whizzes around. Tigerlily loves it - played with it for ages till she tired herself out. Valentino is a big scaredy cat and is a bit afraid of it.

Decided to still have a BBQ - cook the food outside but eat it indoors. So Mike set up the BBQ and I put up the garden parasol to protect it from the rain. Not ideal but it all worked out well and the food was lovely.

Apart from being a damp old day its been really chilly too - we almost had to put the fire on in the lounge this evening but decided against it --- seemed wrong in August.

Haven't seen much of Neil today as he went off to play rugby and its 11.40pm and he isn't back yet. I bet he was covered in mud at the end of the match - hope he doesn't bring the dirty kit home for me to wash.

Tomorrow we have plans to go to Newcastle. Hope its a drier day.
