Abstract Thursday : : Kale
Korey came at 9am to fix the wire that the rat chewed through.. He discovered it before Christmas but when he came yesterday and discovered it hadn't been fixed yet he was horrified, so horrified that he insisted on coming back today to fix it. OilMan admitted he'd called an electrician but when the electrician didn't call him back, he forgot about it.
We knew that the circuit breaker would have to be flipped but we didn't know that practically everything essential to life was also on that circuit. We never dreamed it would take eight hours to fix it....eight hours with no heat, no hot water, no WiFi, and no telephone. I am very grumpy.
But I won't be grumpy for long. Korey is a sweetheart and groveled around under our house for all that time because he was worried about us. He is not an electrician but he is a careful man and a perfectionist, so it took him a long time.
I am actually getting to like kale. Today's entry is an ornamental kale that is growing in a pot outside the bedroom door. It has survived frost and flood, looks exactly the same as when it was planted and is an amazing color. I'm even getting to like eating it since I seem destined to find it on every menu and in most Blue Apron boxes. It must all be part of my new resolution to try see the best in things....
