Chasing a smattering....

Unlike much of the country East Lothian only had a smattering of snow overnight, but such is the romance of newly fallen snow that I head up into the Lammermuir Hills to see what I could discover. The sun was relatively bright so that most south facing land had already thawed. However, I was able to find some isolated patches. I like the way the snow emphasises the 's' shaped furrows around this tree. I have included an extra shot which is a close-up of the the tree which is possibly more dramatic but I think the wide angle view in some ways more typical of this part of the east lothian landscape.
