Keeping warm
Fingers crossed that our cordilines, Australian plants used to a warmer climate than ours, will survive this cold snap. They have been wrapped up for the winter with garden fleece and bubble wrap.
Meanwhile the fish have got an electric heater in the pond.
Our road is open again though still tricky and icy in patches.
The Salvation Army called to collect our old beds only they took one look at them and declined!
I was shocked.
" But there is nothing wrong with them," I spluttered.
"Yes there is, they do not have a fire resistance certificate."
Oh well, we'll have to ask the council for a special collection. Yet it seems such a waste ...
