Belated Christmas Present
What a lovely surprise it is to have a day turn out in a completely different way to that imagined when you stumble out of bed in the dark at 8am surrounded by coughs and sneezes.
After persuading my ailing Lordship that a walk in the sunshine might be a welcome diversion from living in close proximity to a box of tissues and a bottle of Benylin, we were rewarded by a chance meeting with one of my friends of mts- she of tweed collaged dining chairs once featured by me on these pages- and her husband, and while HL kept a germ exclusion zone distance by sitting separately, we enjoyed a festive news catch up over a cup of coffee in the nearby café
No sooner were we home in much cheerier mood than daughter#2 arranged to come to the Dower House with a belated Christmas present, a small weaving she had made with Orkney wool, some of which she would like blipper Poppy to know came from the craft shop in St Margaret's Hope on the day Poppy was not in attendance.
With the sky a magnificent blue and sunshine streaming in through the windows, it is so much easier to imagine life sneeze free and to look forward to being healthy and fit again.
