Frozen Friday Flower

South East UK where I live was supposed to be covered in snow - at least that was what the weather warnings and TV news stories would have you believe.  I agree it was a miserable journey home up the M3 on Thursday night in the pouring rain interspersed with snow flurries, and by the the time I got home the temperatures were falling rapidly.  However, the promised snow turned out to be a fine layer - which had frozen hard by this morning.

Not fancying the job of defrosting the car, I instead took the camera out into the garden and found this poor little carnation bravely flowering despite its blanket of ice:  Flower Friday challenge duely complete!
