Oxford Canal: Isis Lock Impressions

More abstract and expressionist in large?

I thought that I'd give it a go... I manipulated the contrast in Color Efex Pro.
I struggled to choose between this and a more standard canal shot which I've uploaded as an extra.
I walked along Oxford Canal in the middle of the afternoon with my mother: it was chilly, and the sun was hiding, but it was still an enjoyable amble and we saw a variety of birds (including herons, moorhens, gulls, swans, and mallards preening and drinking) which was uplifting.
