Train

Yet another day of walking! I can't remember the last time I did so much walking. Today's jaunt was over the hill above the Aberglaslyn Pass near Beddgelert, ending up in the town and then getting the train back to the start at Nantmor.

The train (the newly opened Welsh Highland Railway) follows the path of an old mining railway - it was disused for many years and we used to regularly walk along it. This part of the line goes through a very long and very dark tunnel that curves through the hill, so dark that, when we used to walk through it, you couldn't even see your hand in front of your face. It was nice to go through the tunnel on the train for a change, but walking was much more fun.
