Floodlit

Sunday 15th January 2017 (1604)

I was taken out for lunch unexpectedly today, which was rather nice.

I also managed to find a little bit of time to review the new camera a bit more. I don't think there's a fault on it. I think the higher definition of the LCD emphasises the noise at low light more than the other one did, it wasn't noticeable before. It is in the display rather than in the photo.

I have now downloaded the manual (much preferred the old paper manuals!) I've had a quick flick through, it can be some "light" reading on the plane next week. Most is intuitive, especially as it is just an upgrade, but there are more functions. I've also managed to solve a query I had the other day when I couldn't do something, but I solved it by experiment rather than the manual!

I decided to test out a night shot this evening. The village hall has recently been floodlit so I went down to take that but decided this view of the church was better. This is my first photo taken in RAW to see how a RAW file can be processed. There was no detail on the left side at first but I've managed to pull that back (depends on your screen, just noticed it is still too dark on my phone). I meant to experiment with the night setting but forgot and I didn't stay out as it was so cold.

Think I will enjoy playing with the new toy, especially on holiday.
