Here we go round the lemon tree
I have a small lemon tree in my greenhouse. I went in today to give it a light watering and was pleased to see that I have a crop of 13 lemons, more than I have ever had before. Three are still a little small and green so probably won't amount to much, but the other ten are looking almost ready to pick. I know from previous years that the lemons have quite a thick skin but that the juice is a really good flavour; very 'lemony' but also quite a bit sweeter than bought lemons. I may make a jar of preserved lemons with three or four of them; the thicker skin should make them very good in North African dishes.
