Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2017 Friday -- Big Beach

The afternoon had transformed into something quite gorgeous, and I told Mr. Fun that we ought to take advantage of the terrific weather and walk the pups, so we put them in the car and drove the mile to the pier parking lot. We disembarked from the car and instantly the pups were intoxicated with the sand.

We walked toward and then under the pier. The tide was extremely low and the shoreline seemed enormous. A group of young teenagers appeared to be on a field trip from the local school; each student had a bag for the collection he or she did. It looked as though they were gathering shells, sea glass, driftwood, and rocks. Awhile later we watched them walk back up the street to the top of the hill where their school is located.

I told Mr. Fun that I was hungry for a snack, that an order of french fries would be good, so after our walk, we put the pups back in their car beds, rolled the windows down a little, and then we walked to Duckie's Restaurant and Mr. Fun came back to the table to tell me he ordered fries and onion rings. We were being extremely naughty, but naughty was tasting so delicious.

We thoroughly eliminated any desire for an evening meal, and later not cooking dinner was fine with me. We watched the sunset and day became night in a most spectacular way.
