Working in the field

We were up early this morning to photograph the sunrise over the temples and pagodas here in Bagan, Myanmar.  The light was beautiful. 

After returning to the hotel for breakfast, a small group of us hired bicycles to investigate the area.  We came across a couple collecting what appeared to be straw, bundling it up and loading it on to a cart.  It was hard physical work in the heat (although they may find it relatively cool compared to their summers).  They were quite happy to let us photograph them. Even here you can see a stupa in the background.

A quiet afternoon followed, catching up with backups and relaxing by the pool.  We will be visiting a local vegetarian restaurant this evening to ring the changes, then to bed ready for another early start tomorrow morning.
