More peaceful than bad tempered canines.

Main picture is a male Teal in its winter plumage. A familiar and attractive sight. It is estimated that over 200,000 come as to the UK between October to March. The cream coloured triangle makes identification easy.

The two extras are more shots of a Great White Egret. They are hard to resist. They are described as "scarce migrant, winter visitor ( 100 - 150 per year). This one is very happy at RSPB Leighton Moss.

This bird morning gave me the chance to make use of our newly acquired book Britain's Birds. As you might guess we have a good number of bird books bought over many years. So why another one?
