Just Waiting

Today has felt like the longest day of my life............Ed ( the cat, for any non regulars) had to go into the vet's for a procedure ( not an op) and what with his age and health problems I never know if it might be his last visit :-(
On top of all his other health problems he has chyle  very slowly leaking from his gut into his abdominal cavity but apart from growing increasingly barrel shaped he is quite bright and alert, eating well and not appearing in pain at all.
 As regulars will know we have been told that there is nothing can be done for his existing health problems apart from medication and he is approaching 20 yrs old, so every extra day we get with him is a bonus and given that he is otherwise quite bright we decided to go ahead and let the vet drain the abdominal cavity, which is what has happened today.................I have been on hot coals all day, I couldn't settle to doing anything but we have just had the call that he got through the procedure ok and didn't even need any sedation, he just them do it, bless him, so hubby has gone to fetch him and I can't wait to give him a cuddle, phew  :-)
