Anne's Daily Encounters

Reflections

Got a glass ball as goodbye gift from my colleagues last month and took that along on my walks this afternoon for an initial try out when the sun set. It's diameter is 12 cm and has the weight of 2½ kilo's, so a slice bigger than the juggler's ball I showed here the other day. Do like its size and the reflections it gives! I'm sure I will use it more often, altho' it won't come along on my walks with groups.

Today was a very social day with calls from friends here in Holland and in Crete; long calls as we'd not spoken each other for months. Nice calls but also alarming, again.

My dearest friend from Crete will start another session of chemo's this week. It's crazy how many of my dear ones fight that disease now.
And from one of my former colleagues I learned today that our 3rd colleague who suffered from cancer died yesterday, I'd visited him last week, when he looked very poorly but believed he'd be around for another fortnight. So sad to have seen him change from a lively and healthy looking man into one facing death in the face within 4 months. only 51 years he was to live. So by the end of this week I will attend the 2nd funeral of this year.
