Whats the Point?

I lowered myself even further by paying to have my car washed.
Paying!?? Me? Pay to have my car cleaned? I didn't feel like getting wet.
It was damp and drizzly anyway and it will get mucky within the day.
So whats the point?
Well, some say that its even more important at this time of year to wash off muck grime and in particular Salt so as to prevent corrosion generally and in particular your Catalytic converter (exhaust) which is prone to rusting and is stupidly expensive to replace.
So I am told, and sounds plausible enough..
