an aging rose...

...is on tap today

i couldn't pass this up - sometimes a flower doesn't always have to be 100% fresh & perky - in order to be beautiful - it does not have to have that enduring fragrance - remaining in its petals any longer - for you to take a second glance at it - no, sometimes a flower can be in that sort of in between stage - where it's still very much alive yet - you can tell it's also very much on it's way towards a flowery grave - know what i mean? - it's that point where it's beginning to dry even though - you're still watering it although it is saying to you - 'i'm not ready to give up the ghost yet'

so you continue to baby the flower(s) - in this case, the rose, because you have faith in it - and lookit at it - those gorgeous petals flaring out at the sides - some of the red coloring beginning to turn gold - i don't see a rose declining here - i see a rose starting a different phase of its life - for me as a human to enjoy so i can have...
