Winter Detail
We were out skiing again today, this time in the next valley, Ramsås. HarlingDarling has written about that, and her blip photo was better than mine were, so I won't repeat it.
So here is another aspect of winter - staying warm. Our house has central heating which is sufficient unless it gets really cold, but we still burn wood nearly every day. Partly it's because we have this renewable resource on our doorstep, but even more because it's lovely to do so. The light of a fire burning wood, the crackling, the smells, the work of keeping it going, and the lovely dry warmth it spreads through the rooms is an aesthetic experience not provided by central heating!
After we'd skied and come home I spent 15 minutes splitting wood and this basket on the snow is filled with the results.
