Stirling Icons

Ok, I know I posted a shot of the castle a few days ago but that was then and this is now. All the snow has gone and been replaced by grey low cloud today, no sign of the mountains at all.
The castle is a real melange of architectural styles from several centuries and eras right up to Victorian.
That extra shot is, of course, the National Wallace Monument sitting atop the Abbey Craig. The view from the base is excellent but, if you put your hand in your pocket and pay, you get the privilege of climbing to the top and the views are simply stunning - on a good day at least.
