Camera trapping
Now I know this is my blip birthday, 4 years on blip with only a few missing shots, and I so wanted to get you a good photo however I was working inside and it was dull and grey here. I went out at lunchtime and forgot my sd card again and then I went to spinning class tonight so I'm running out of time.
I have been looking today at the images I have been taking with the camera traps for the wildcat project so here are a few of them. The dark ones are taken at night using infra red. What you can see here is a badger taking my bait, I use dead quail. A fox taking the bait at another trap, a red deer walking past in daylight and a woodcock. Woodcock winter here, well the population increases in the winter anyway. They are mostly active at night, I didn't really know that before. The only animals I have missed here is a very blurry shot of a pine marten and some shots of wood mice but you can only see their eyes so difficult to tell.
I hope you find these as interesting as I did. I am back out next week to see what has been happening at the cameras over the last fortnight so maybe I'll get a better pine marten shot for you.
