Difficult to say what's happening here. Either he's had enough of her and is flying the nest, or he's off to find something to impress her.
I was quite lucky to get this, I was just snapping away at a flock of lesser black-backed gulls on the cricket pitch when this one got into a flap.
They very often congregate here and will sometimes walk around in unison, always in the same direction, like a marching army of gulls. Perhaps it depends on the time of day or the weather.
