Beach Huts
Despite it being a very wet day we decided to drive to Zeeland in the Netherlands for a Sunday lunch of 'Mosselen', 'Moules' or in English - Mussels.
Zeeland is famous for it's mussels and this year has apparently been one of the best harvests in years. Alan and I shared a huge pan of them cooked in wine, and they were absolutely delicious!
After lunch we went for a walk along a coastal path, through the sand dunes. About half way along we got caught in a very heavy rain shower, but fortunately we'd taken our waterproofs so were ok, and it was very windy so the clouds soon passed over and the sun came out.
We sat and had a drink at a cafe on the beach and then walked back along the beach. It's lined with beach huts of a variety of styles and colour, but I particularly liked these candy striped ones.
As you can see they're all closed up today - there weren't many people on the beach!
