Widwed: Perspective

I desperately wanted to provide an example which I hadn't tried or even SEEN before and so it took me a lot of fooling around before I happened upon my hiking tripod ... the good old Slik, hero of lotsa treks and veteran of many waterfall shoots. I used the Samyang 7mm (14mm ff equiv) focused to about 4 inches from the top of the camera mount at an aperture of f16. It is only a small subject when all is said and done but it causes me to feel a fraction giddy nonetheless  ... which is all part of the fun of course. :o)

In any case this is the Wideangle Wednesday: Perspective (widwed63) challenge for this week. For an explanation of what it's all about, see my blip of yesterday. Then why not join in and have a go at using a wide angle lens to enhance perspective?

This coming Friday after 9:00 am (Blue Mountains time), I'll decide the hearts and honourable mentions. Next week's challenge will be "Wideangle Distortion", which I'll discuss in my Pre Widwed blip, next Tuesday. 

I am writing these words about 12 hours later and have been most impressed so far by the number and quality of the challenge entries. Thank you. I notice that one or two of you are using the term "forced perspective". Often the shade of meaning for such terms varies from place to place and from person to person but I have always associated that expression with perspective based optical illusions and is a challenge subject I was hoping to introduce in a few weeks time. HERE are some examples if you are interested.
