Titter Ye Not!

Please do not mock my lonely little snowdrop, the remaining bulb from the triplets of last year. When the tree at the foot of the ground in front of the Dower House was blown down in 2011, I planted snow drop bulbs in one of the holes left behind in the lawn. Nothing much became of them save for 3 which produced flowers over the years, but one seems to have given up the ghost and another has been stood upon leaving this little fellow standing sentinel and clinging to life this year.

Happily my illegally planted daffodils at the wall have survived the winter under the protection of a heap of fallen leaves. They were uncovered by the gardeners this morning, rather yellow leafed, but still plentiful, to bring some much needed colour in a month or two to the boring green sward of lawn.

In other matters His Lordship is on the mend but coughing like a pro and quietly smug about weight he is losing as a result. I have not got the cough and still have the weight. Life is so unfair.
