Madurai flower market

Yesterday afternoon we travelled to Madurai in Tamil Nadu. This town has one of the most important and oldest Hindu temples in India, a huge building made up of 34 temples. The 4 outer temples are very tall, up to 46 metres and are covered with many brightly coloured sculptures (see extra photo). We visited this temple last night to watch the closing of the temple ceremony, a loud, noisy, chaotic ceremony which happens every night; we went again this morning to see it in day light.
Later we visited a veg and fruit market and then the local flower market where this photos was taken.
