A practical guide.....

One of those days today ! A shortage of staff didn't help. One phoned in sick at 7am , the other sent a text at 8.30 by which time I was well aware that he wasn't here !
A surprise calf out in the spring calvers when I went to feed them. It hadn't sucked by mid morning so had to walk them in , milk out the cow and bottle feed the calf. Hopefully it will get the idea that milk comes from a cow , not a bottle soon.
The shed boys here to start fixing box profile tin to the poly shed that blew away last year. Only problem was the sheets that were delivered were 80 cm shorter than ordered so back to the drawing board.
Went to a vet meeting tonight on the subject of calf pneumonia and vaccines. Nothing that we hadn't heard before, but the sandwiches were good !
