The Stand Off

Things are a bit crazy here at the TMG residence and so we find new and interesting things to fill our time. In this case, we decided to pit our new dinosaur toy vs. our chocolate lab.

In one corner, was Robosaurus a Christmas gift for little TMG #1. Robosaurus is a remote controlled dinosaur who can walk and make dino sounds. He is not particularly threatening especially since he wears this goofy grin, but is fun to play with nonetheless.

In the other corner, was W our 80 lb, 11 year-old chocolate lab. He embodies everything that is good about labs - gentleness, intelligence and love. Aggression is not part of his personality unless you count aggressive licking of family members.

As the battle began, W was napping in his accustomed place on the playroom floor. Robosaurus began with a frontal assault. As he waddled forward making his dino sounds, W opened one eye wondering what was waking him from a winter's slumber. He assessed the situation, recognized that Robosaurus was an annoying toy and promptly went back to sleep. However, Robosaurus would not be so easily dismissed. He continued his waddle intent on causing havoc, confusion and delay. (like the reference? ;-) )

Eventually, W was forced to re-assess the situation. In the picture, Robosaurus had closed in on W and was about to begin his patented ramming maneuver (the only maneuver you can do with Robosaurus!). W was taking another look and trying to decide whether the intruder warranted action.

Immediately after this shot, W gave Robosaurus an annoying look, stood and wandered to another room under the assumption that he would be protected from further intrusions. In this case, he was right; we did not have the heart to harass him again!
