Burj Al Arab Jumeirah
We took off from Dubai three hours late, at 1.30pm, for our 13 hour flight to Brisbane, Australia. We landed at 9.15am (Oz time) for the hour transfer to our hotel on The Gold Coast.
I did grab a couple of photo's that I liked on the flight; taking photographs through the very thick sealed glass windows of the double decker Airbus A380 is not easy as they're about 12" thick!
The photo I like best is of the Burj Al Arab seen as we flew over it. Above it in the photo you can make out The Palm Island. The lovely white clouds contrasted again the blue sky set it off against the jagged sandy beach.
We have now settled in to our hotel with views over Surfers Paradise and the many tall buildings. The staff are ultra friendly. We're jet-lagged and catching up on sleep!
The Burj Al Arab is the 4th highest hotel in the world, 7 star, and supposedly the most luxurious. It cost a billion dollars to build and cost an average of $24,000 a night! We didn't stay there :(
