The Art Of Framing, London

As part of my job I deal with frames every day - nearly every artwork I photograph comes with some type of frame. Sometimes I have to shoot them with their frames and at other times I have to remove the artwork from them for any number of reasons - flare, too deep shadows, to show the whole canvas, to show the edges otherwise hidden. I'm not surprised that sometimes I seem to see them everywhere whether real or imagined (one of each in the case of today's image!). Of course, photography is all about the art of framing.
