Day 1 Yellowstone

We came in to the airport at Bozeman ,Montana on Saturday and took the shuttle to Mammoth Hot Springs the next AM. Since we were staying at the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful the only way to get there is by Snowcoach (see the extra- this year they are all new, no more Bombardiers) and you pick it up at Mammoth. There was just enough time at Mammoth to walk  up to Minerva Terrace - the terraces are travertine, created by the hot water dissolving the limestone underneath  and depositing it on the surface , forming a series of terraces. They  are colored  in the other seasons but largely covered up by snow and steam at the present .
I am back blipping in a sense for the next few days because , being not a techie- I did not try to hook into the somewhat convoluted way of getting internet access in Yellowstone. And I probably was too tired to try :))
