Gee Up!
Ever since Little D clapped eyes on Dressage at the Olympics he's had a bit of a thing for horses so it seemed only right that when the ponies came to town he and Miss A got to ride them.
We lined up for our turn, Little D a tad more impatient than the other children, but when he got on his pony he barely made a noise for 5 minutes, such was his awe at being in the saddle. That all changed when it was Miss A's turn and he screamed at being relegated to the sidelines. Miss A was equally quiet, perhaps there was a lot of concentration required to hang on which meant both her and Little D lost the ability to speak for the duration of the ride. There was a slightly hairy moment when the pony stood on something which made it jump and teddy was thrown from the saddle - Miss A looked momentarily horrified but seemed happy enough when teddy was dusted down and by her side again.
Rob, Grandad, Xanin and Dilan went off sailing for a few hours so I stuck around the pool with Miss A and Little D, where we made some new friends. We met up with the rest of the family later in the day and went back to the beach-side restaurant for more food and a late evening dip in the sea.
The kids got to bed at midnight, not for the first time this holiday. Bad, bad parents...
