A Seaking Search and Rescue helicopter from RAF Boulmer a few miles away.

It was returning from a training exercise at York Minster. It involved lowering the winchman down onto the roof of the Minster to administer first aid to a mock casualty then winch them both back into the aircraft. It drew quite a crowd of spectators and even made the "Look North" news
