Stag Night
Apologies for the poor quality. It was a very impromptu blip taken on my phone as I was leaving work.
It's a female Stag Beetle, the biggest British beetle species and they're now listed as threatened in the wild. They are most active at dusk, feeding on nectar and tree sap.
I spotted it whilst locking up at the end of my shift - on top of the bunker where we keep our kindling logs. Also saw Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock butterflies earlier too, so the petrol station is full of life.
Ciao!
