THE POOP DECK

At the beginning of the summer, I purchased a solar powered waterfall/ birdbath. Covered with mountain appropriate rocks, and topped with 2 small stone birds, it was the perfect accessory for our deck.

Breakfast became more special with the sound track of gently flowing water.

Imagine my joy when Robins started swooping in for morning and afternoon drinks.Their little heads bobbing in rhythm, as they bent down for the long sweet liquid refreshment.

They left behind_
Little brown 'calling' cards.
At first, on the redwood floor of the deck. Then the railing. Then in the waterfall. Creating a veritable log jam- eventually blowing out the pump.

And, that, my friends is the story of how the poop deck got its name.
