Unlikely companions

Not a good quality image, but I had to take a quick snap with my phone of this deer and Shetland pony. There's a smallholding nearby and the deer had left his enclosure to spend time with the pony. They seemed to be getting on very well. Another photo was then photobombed by an emu - see extra - a strange inhabitant to find in the Tyne Valley!

Following my dogwalk, I met a friend for pastries and coffee and attended a MSc seminar.

I took it easy for the rest of the day as I'm not feeling too great and on antibiotics :-( Watched the inauguration in the afternoon and felt sad to see the Obamas go.
