My Day, My Life

The Bends

Spent a lovely afternoon at Forrestburn Speed Hill Climb, in the company of My Girl her best friend &her dad too.

Lots of interesting cars, Porsche, Formula 3, hot hatches, kit cars and some real vintage models too.

All taking it in turn to try and get the fastest lap of the day.

Some were purely out for pleasure, while others had a point to prove!

Screeching of tyres and quick and not so quick gear changes as each car careered round one of the sharpest bends on the circuit.

One by one they passed, some growling, some purring and the odd one 'clunking'!

For one unfortunate car and driver their day ended rather abruptly after they collided with something, out of view from our vantage point but as the car came to a grinding halt we could see the front chassis was twisted and when the car was loaded onto a trailer we could see one of the rear wheels had sheared too.

Luckily the driver wasn't injured but I think today's episode would put a nasty dent in his wallet!

Today was our first trip here and I'm sure it won't be our last, now that we know about it.

All thanks to My Girls camera club instructors for letting us know.

Lots of great photos were taken, although this doesn't necessarily fall into that category.

Later in the evening I met another keen motorist who's been in Edinburgh this past week.
He too used to drive a KITT car.

His name, David Hasslehoff.
