The Mess-Around
My Dear Fellow,
This is Charlotte Square at about 7am. Gosh those lights are bright. I was on my way to Pret for a bacon roll. My brain foolishly suggested it, only in half-seriousness, but my stomach took this as a firm commitment and forced my legs around to Shandwick Place.
It was a very quiet day at work, although I was checking my email to see what Previous Bunch of Managers had to say about my demands. And as it turns out - not very much. They sent me a dodgy email saying sssssssure, come on back! But no specifics.
I mean. Fer eff's sake. We're all in BUSINESS aren't we? Where you expect more than a hearty handshake and a commitment to "pay you something" for a "nonspecific space of time". I wonder how Amazon would take it if I asked them to send me a new telly and said that I'd pay them "something in due course".
So I told them to eff the eff off. In my head. Not in actuality. I am very polite.
Then it was time to go home for curry. Er Indoors spoilt my appetite by watching the inauguration of reality tv star President Honey-Boo-Boo. I had to go in another room and play with the cats. To be honest, I have to avoid looking at the tv for the next four years. That's how cross the election of President Snooki makes me.
El P.
