A Rare Sight

An exciting evening at Muriwai. Always good to see the gannets of course, but the main reason was to try to capture a shot of a real rarity on NZ shores....
For the last 2-3 nights there has been a red footed booby roosting at the headlands in the company of the gannets. Sure enough, it was there again tonight, but never really settled before the wind and rain became to much to bear, and the light failed to miserable and impossible levels. Still I got a few shots in flight, clearly showing the red feet. Not really sharp but the best effort given the conditions. 
Lots of other photographers and birders there, good to see so much interest in what I understand is the first ever specimen sighted on the NZ mainland (has been seen at the Kermadecs in the past).
Oh, PS....you can't do this on a cell phone !!
