A robin on the rhus tree
We got up very early, for me at least, as Helena's train was due at 8-05am to take her to London and then Cambridge. It was very cold with thick frost and a clear sky keeping the temperature at –4°C.
Soon after I returned home I walked down the garden with a camera and enjoyed the chill bright light and the beginning of a thaw on any surface exposed to the sun's direct light.
I then filled the feeders and just stood close to the rhus tree from which they hang. A few birds approached but would veer away when they saw me. A robin of course tends to be interested in humans and this one stood on this perch and watched me.
