War Grave
I recently noticed that some new plaques have been erected on a couple of our local churchyards gates - informing that there is / are war grave(s) inside.
A little googling revealed that there is a programme under way to highlight some the 300,000 war graves at home in the UK. More info can be found here
Today I walked through our village church and found the war grave - I have never noticed it before but it does stand out against all the other dark headstones.
The blip image shows the plaque and the grave of Pilot Officer G. Fisher who perished on 24th September 1942 aged just 27.
